CMA-FEST 2011
June 9th - 12th

Day Three

Folks show up early on this Saturday morning at Fan Fair Hall. Everyone is trying to get a good seat at the Durango Stage in anticipation of Con's performance. All seats were taken quickly and it was standing room only as folks stood in the hallways of the Convention Center to catch a glimpse and listen.
After a warm introduction, Con is welcomed to the stage by WSM Radio's own Charlie Mattos.
WSM co-sponsors this stage and brings the performances live to their radio and online listeners.
Con greets the audience, and is glad to see so many smiling faces!
Con gets his set started, and the crowd loves it!
Con brought his bass player, Burton Akers along today. The rest of the band was comprised of some of Con's good friends from
the Opry Band.
Jimmy Capps on guitar, Tommy White on steel, Walt Cunningham on piano, and Mark Beckett on drums.
This room offers a unique performance opportunity for fans and for artists.....a very up-close and personal show experience. Check out this clip of "What's New With You" from the performance.
Con loves the warm interaction with the crowd, sharing a few stories and laughs...
Con closes out his show on the Durango Stage with a song from his Shoot From the Heart album,
Hollow Man...
...just beautiful!
As he leaves the stage Con stops for a picture with country artist and WSM personality
Teea Goans.
After a quick change, Con chats for a moment with Lee Roy Parnell, who is also performing on the Durango Stage today.
And a quick pic with today's host
WSM's Charlie Mattos and GAC-TV's
Mechalle Myers before Con heads to the Convention Center to greet fans at his booth.
And with another
dear friend from WSM,
Bill Cody.
When Con arrives at his booth, Trace Adkins is right next door at his sponsor's booth greeting fans, but he takes a moment for a hug and howdy and to say what a huge fan he is of Con's, and of course,
Con loves Trace!

Two genuinely gracious and talented guys!
It reminds us that artists are fans, too!

Saturday at Fan Fair Hall is bustling!
Con fans are eager to tell him what a great performance he gave this morning!
Special long-time fan and friend Janice Lovell gets a hug! Janice was the president of Con's Fan Club back in the 80's, and she wouldn't miss seeing him at Fan Fair for the world!
Fans continue to make their way to Con's booth. These moments shared between fans and artists mean so much.
For fans it's the chance to tells artists how much their music means to them, or to ask them a question, or just smile and get a picture.
For the artists it's the chance to tell fans in person how very much they are appreciated...
...this is what Fan Fair
is all about.
It's a win-win!

The days have flown by, and tomorrow is the last day of CMA-Fest 2011. You can check it out here!
